Beautiful Liposculpting and Liposuction Surgery
Your Liposuction Surgery
A fit and well-proportioned body is often considered a symbol of health and vitality. But despite good health and a reasonable level of fitness, some individuals may still have a body with disproportionate areas of localized fat deposits. These areas may be due to heredity or family traits rather than fitness or lack of weight control. Liposuction can help. In general, liposuction slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing localized or regional excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion, and ultimately, enhancing your self image. Liposuction can treat all areas of the body, face, arms, and legs.

Normally, liposuction is performed under general anesthesia in a controlled environment. Sometimes if only a small areas is to be treated, liposuction can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation.

Liposuction candidates should also be non-smokers and individuals with a positive outlook and specific goals in mind for body contouring. Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for a proper diet and exercise. It is also not an effective treatment for cellulite, the dimpled skin that typically appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks.
How Is A Liposuction Surgery Performed?
Evaluation of the area to be liposuction is done during the consultation/pre-op visit. On the day of surgery, the area is identified and marked out. The patient is then brought into the operating room where anesthesia is giving. The liposuction area is then prepped draped with sterile operating room sheets. A small 3mm incision is then made in the area, and the tumescent fluid is infused in the area. (The tumescent fluid is intravenous fluid mixed with epinephrine and lidocaine.) Liposuction is then performed. After the liposuction procedure, a compression garment is applied. The compression garment will be worn for 4-6 weeks after the liposuction surgery.
What Is the Recovery For A Liposuction Surgery?
The recovery period for a liposuction surgery is approximately one week. Return to aggressive exercising is allowed after 2-3 weeks, when the bruising subsides.
